Privacy, described as it works.
We collect only what operates the site, fulfils an order, provides support or sends a message you requested. We do not sell personal information and we do not run advertising or behavioral analytics.
Categories we collect
- Identifiers and contact details, including email, name, shipping and billing address, telephone number and order number.
- Commercial information, including the item ordered, amount paid, refund status and fulfilment events.
- Payment-related information handled by Stripe. We receive transaction status and limited payment details such as card brand and last four digits, not the full card number.
- Communications you send to support and any photographs or files you choose to include.
- Basic network and device data needed by Cloudflare to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, request time and browser information.
How each feature uses data
If you subscribe for updates, your email address is stored in a Cloudflare KV subscriber store so we can send what you requested and honour an unsubscribe. The ZIP lookup uses the ZIP code to return public water-report information and stores nothing from that lookup.
Stripe processes checkout and payment information on its hosted service. If ordering opens, we receive the order record needed for fulfilment, receipts, refunds, disputes and support. The selected manufacturer receives the recipient name, shipping address, contact details and order contents needed to ship the unit directly. Service providers receive only the information needed for their role.
We use no analytics tags, ad pixels or cross-site behavioral tracking. Cloudflare may process routine security and delivery logs as our infrastructure provider.
Categories of recipients
Recipients are Cloudflare for site delivery and the subscriber store, Stripe for payments, the selected manufacturer and its carrier for fulfilment, and professional or government recipients when reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud or defend legal rights. We do not share data with data brokers or targeted-advertising networks.
Retention and protection
Subscriber data remains until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Order, tax, refund, dispute and support records remain only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and applicable recordkeeping duties. Providers apply their own security controls, and we limit access to operational need. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices and requests
Email hello@theboiltest.com to ask what we hold about you, correct it, unsubscribe, or request deletion. We will verify the request and explain any record we must retain for legal, tax, fraud-prevention or transaction purposes.
Do Not Track
Browsers may send a Do Not Track signal. Because there is no common operating standard and this site does not perform cross-site behavioral tracking, our site does not change its behavior in response. We do not knowingly allow other parties to track visitors across unrelated sites through this site.
Children
The site and store are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
For a material change, we will revise the effective date and place a prominent notice on the site before the new practice takes effect. If the change materially affects information already collected, we will also use the available contact method where required or appropriate.
